Dorsey School's Roseville Picnic Fundraiser For Turning Point Breaks Record!

FUNDRAISING AFTER GLOW

Many thanks to many people on yesterday’s annual picnic event!  What an amazing time!  Whether you were at the 11:00 picnic, the 3:30 picnic, or the 6:00 picnic, I think you’ll agree that it was definitely a day filled with many laughs and tons of fun.


Special gratitude to:

·         Ms. Sharon Eifert for her perennially flawless hosting of this event.

·         Ms. Mary Ellen Wojciechowski for her strong leadership and invaluable contributions.

·         Our Hospitality and Tourism students who worked tirelessly all day to contribute to an amazing day.  Their hard work is very much admired and valued.

·         The students, staff, faculty, corporate office staff, and members of our Madison Heights sister campus for their generosity in giving on multiple levels.

·         Our many sponsors and contributors, including The Weave Shop of Southfield, U-Haul Rentals of Roseville, and Western Creative of Redford.

This year is a special year for our annual picnic, as our total fundraising efforts have raised the largest amount of money in Roseville history, exceeding the record of our 2009 picnic of $3,000.

This year’s total money raised: $3,100!!

 All of this money will be contributed to Turning Point of Macomb County (www.turningpointmacomb.org), a shelter for abused women and children.  Unfortunately, many of our students have relied on the services offered by Turning Point to seek refuge from hostile environments.  Fortunately, through the work of its many dedicated men and women, Turning Point has been there for our students time and again.  And the best part:  We get to be part of that effort with the work we do!!

Thank you to everyone for your generosity, hard work, and dedication to the excellence which was displayed at yesterday’s event.  You are a tremendous group of people, students and staff alike, and it is my distinct honor to be counted among you.
