I just wanted to share these pictures to show the outcome of our latest volunteer opportunity. I never believed we’d have the participation we did, considering the event was on the last Saturday of the module after students had already taken their final exams.
I’d like to give a big shout out to Ms. Dick, Ms. Thornton and Ms. Wilshaw for helping out with the event. Ms. D and Ms. Thornton helped students read results from the glucometer and cholesterol analyzer. Ms. Wilshaw walked students around the health fair and helped them mingle with personnel from the various hospitals that were also participating. Several students had a chance to sit at some very interesting lectures about community health.
Each student that participated received a thank you certificate from Blue Cross Blue Shield. These students also did a stand up job promoting themselves and their peers to the community.
