Our Spring 'B' 2011 Teammate Of The Module Is ..........Joseph Augugliaro!

We’re half way through this year already, if you can believe that, which also means that we have nominated our fourth Teammate of the Module!  I have to say, however, that this module has been the toughest one yet.  So many people were nominated, and all were very deserving of the distinction.

As the panel convened, however, the decision was made to elect Mr. Joseph Augugliaro as the Spring B 2011 Teammate of the Module!

Joseph Augugliaro started with Dorsey Schools in September of 2010 working full-time in the admissions department, where he continues to impact the lives of our students on a daily basis.  Joe’s continued drive toward building relationships with each department within the school has easily set him apart from the crowd.  Some of Joe’s contributions to the team include:

·         In the absence of our two senior admissions representatives, Melanie Hannah (maternity) and Reginald McCarver (medical), Joe seamlessly picked up various responsibilities without even being asked.  He coordinated orientations, student meet and greet events, and even prepared all of the orientation documents to assist the registrar in student file completion.

·         Joe has, on multiple occasions, exemplified the PLUS ONE service that our campus is dedicated to providing.  Recently, Joe went well beyond expectation with two students.  Joe’s problem solving skills and his ability to overcome obstacles helped a deaf student get enrolled into the culinary program through Joe’s research on sign language interpreters to assist in the classroom and make sure the student would be accommodated.  He was also able to help a current student, with a crisis in their living situation through his connections with McRest, a local charity.

·         With the addition of three new admissions representatives to the team, Joe has taken their mentorship as his personal responsibility.

·       On his own, Joe coordinated a career fair in the community and worked an entire day, meeting with and setting appointments with potential students.  In fact, knowing that he was not going to be in the office that day, he even set up appointments for that day for potential students to meet with his teammates to make sure the potential students were taken care of immediately, knowing that these individuals were motivated to move forward toward a great career path.

·         At the same career fair, Joe was “interviewing” potential instructors as well.  He met Mr. Brandon Johnson, our new medical terminology instructor, and was so impressed by him, that he coordinated an interview for Mr. Johnson with our academic dean, Mr. Thisse.

·         Additionally, Mr. Augugliaro spends quite a few unscheduled Saturdays in the office, just working to increase the campus’ performance.

Joe’s dedication to excellence is evident in everything he does.  He is compassionate, hard-working, ethical, and downright committed.  Dorsey Schools is proud to have such a professional on its team and we all hope he remains here for a long while to come.

Please join me in congratulating Mr. Augugliaro on this distinction!

Thank you, Joe, for your many contributions to Dorsey Schools.  Your students have become better people due to your hard work, as have all who have had the privilege to work with you.  While the list of people who deserve this recognition was long, you rose above the rest for this module.
