Are you familiar with the Dorsey Mission statement? If not, here it is:
"The entire Staff of Dorsey Schools strives to prepare men and women for the best possible career opportunities in various fields. We are committed to providing quality career education and positive reinforcement to enable the individual development of self-esteem, confidence, discipline, and self-reliance in all graduates, coupled with an obligation to the communities in which they live and work."
When potential students come in for a career planning session with an Admissions Representative, the first question we ask is, “So, you are here to make a change?”
Dorsey Schools is committed to being the supportive environment needed for those changes and as you continue your education here I am certain you have felt those changes.
The next question I pose to you is, “What is your personal mission statement?”
When you walked in for your career planning session your mission was to start school. Congratulations on doing that! It is important to create long and short term goals for yourselves to measure your success. It is easy to feel discouraged in your day to day life, unless you stop to remember where you have come from and where you are going. So what is your next mission, besides graduating?
Take a moment right now and ask yourself that very question. “What is my mission statement?”
Write down the first thing that comes to mind. Keep this statement available to read everyday to keep you encouraged and motivated! Please come by the admissions office and let us know your next mission statement. We helped you start your journey here at Dorsey and want you to know we are always here to support you!
Have a great rest of the module. Roseville rocks!
Allison Ouellette
Director of Admissions
